About Valar Atomics
Designs and is scaling serial production of small high-temperature gas-cooled reactors on helium-cooled TRISO fuel — to power AI data centers, industry, and synthetic fuel production.
Valar Atomics is an American nuclear company, founded in July 2023 by Isaiah Taylor, headquartered in El Segundo. It builds small helium-cooled nuclear reactors fueled by TRISO, which contains fission products even in the event of a runaway overheating accident. The idea is to mass-produce reactors and deploy hundreds of them at a single site to power data centers and industry off-grid. In June 2026 the test reactor Ward 250 in Utah achieved a sustained chain reaction, and in July it became the first next-generation reactor in the US to generate electricity. In August 2026, Sequoia led a $1 billion Series B round that valued the company at $6 billion; total funding raised is about $1.5 billion.
