Aalyria
Aalyria is an American network software and laser communications company founded in 2022 in Livermore. It was spun out of Loon, Google's project for delivering internet from balloons: the technology, patents and equipment moved to the new company, and Google kept a stake. It has two products. Spacetime builds a digital model of the entire network and reroutes links in advance before a connection drops, and the Tightbeam laser terminal transmits data at fiber-optic speeds; in August 2025 it held 100 Gbit/s over 65 km through the atmosphere. Telesat chose Spacetime for its Lightspeed constellation for more than ten years, NASA deployed the software in its cloud for the PExT mission, and customers also include the U. S. Space Force, ESA and Airbus. The Series B in February 2026, led by Battery Ventures and J2 Ventures, brought in $100 million at a $1.3 billion valuation.
Key highlights

Telesat: a ten-year agreement.
In November 2023 the Canadian operator chose Spacetime to manage traffic on its Lightspeed low-Earth-orbit constellation. Telesat's CEO calls this kind of orchestration one of the conditions for a fast and resilient network.
U.S. Navy: a laser link over 65 km.
In 2023 the Office of Naval Research awarded $7 million for the first phase of the SOAR program. In August 2025 Tightbeam held 100 Gbit/s over 65 km and kept the link on a ship-motion simulator.
NASA: from a study to an operational mission.
In 2024 NASA commissioned a study from Aalyria on managing its networks. In 2026 the agency installed Spacetime in its cloud and connected it to the PExT mission, which transmits data across NASA, Viasat and SES networks.
