About Starcloud
Builds satellite data centers with NVIDIA server accelerators, solar panels, and radiators. Starcloud-1 launched into orbit in November 2025, the Y Combinator company became a unicorn in 17 months.
Starcloud is an American company building data centers in orbit, founded in 2024 in Redmond. The Starcloud-1 satellite with an NVIDIA H100 accelerator was the first to train a language model in space in December 2025 — this is the first NVIDIA server chip in orbit. The economics are based on energy: solar panels in space are illuminated more than 95% of the time, and electricity there, according to the company's calculations, is ten times cheaper than on Earth, even considering launch costs. An application has been filed for a constellation of 88,000 satellites. AI cloud operator Crusoe deploys its Crusoe Cloud platform on Starcloud satellites, SpaceX launches the satellites, and a contract has been signed for Starlink laser terminals for the next 25 spacecraft. The August 2026 round for $250 million, led by Manhattan West, took place at a valuation of $2.3 billion, with a total of $450 million raised.
